Due to a mis-upload of code files you may have experienced some errors these past couple of days. The problem has now been rectified, but if you are still unable to play adventures please post here.

Hello,
Is the web site still "alive"? There is no update since many months.
I wish to know if I start creating a new aventure, is it still possible to get support?
Regards

Hi there, sorry to keep you waiting.
Yes, it is still 'alive' - just. I have no plans for abandoning it whatsoever. Please feel free to create adventures using the system. also note that there is a backup facility that allows you to download all the work you create on this site at any time - meaning that if for some reason I do abandon this site your work need never be lost.
I am planning on creating a HTML exporter facility at some point as well - basically replacing all ABML tags with HTML link tags and removing all ABML tags that do not have an HTML equivalent - which means you would not have to manually do this should you wish to publish your own work elsewhere.
I hope you find this re-assuring, one of my main aims of creating this site is ensuring aspiring authors do not lose the work they have devoted to the genre of interactive fiction.
As for the inactivity on the forum and site I can only apologise. In all honesty the lack of activity is one of the reasons for my own inactivity on work I could quite well be doing to the site. Also there is a lot of work and attention I devote that does not show in any way to end users (I have attempted some code revisions that are purely technical for example).
Also I have been wrestling with the problem of properly interactive 'inventory lists' for gamebooks using the tools I have already provided for quite some time and have as yet to come up with any system that I find entirely satisfactory (mostly in terms of ease of use for inexperienced programmers - I don't wish authors to feel they need to learn how to program to write gamebooks, I'd rather you concentrated on story!). At this time I am veering toward providing an additional ABML tag as the easiest solution.
I look forward to seeing the results of your efforts in the gamebook area, and of course please do not hesitate to ask for any help, or simply comment on what you think of the site and system.
